Hunting is John's life, passion and where he is in his element. Whether it be out bow hunting with his son Charile, tagging along for hound hunts on horseback for hares with his daughter Lucy, pig hunting with family and friends or a solo hunt on the West Coast for tahr - this is John's game! He lives and breathes hunting down to the finest points, including continuing the generations of herd improvement of the game animals present on Waitoi Creek.

John's years of experience from hunting New Zealand and multi continents have given him an incredible amount of unique skills. John's ability to judge a trophy in the field is second to none and he is an accredited SCI measurer.

Nathan Simmons
Experienced professional guide
Nathan is a highly skilled hunter who has been a part of the family at Waitoi Creek Trophy Hunting for many years. Nathan has a wealth of big game hunting experience from the South Pacific 15 in Australia and New Zealand to dangerous game in Africa and North America, to name a few. ​

His years of hunting experience and extensive knowledge will be shared with you so that you can gain the upper hand over any game that you hunt. His attention to detail with everything before, during and after the hunt ensures a succesful, safe hunt is had by all, creating memories and friends that last a lifetime.

Future guide/Boss's Son
Charlie is a chip off the old block! He already knows the land like the back of his hand and is a hunting guide in the making. Charlie already has extensive hunting experience and loves nothing more than to share his passion with friends and family
